Cancer-associated pain

The narrative review presented in this monographic issue is dedicated to the cancer-associated pain (CAP).

As stated by the Authors, pain is the most common symptom associated with cancer, and it is reported in about 60% of  patients affected by malignancies. CAP is often underestimated and under-treated or faced in a late phase. More and more data  suggest that if an effective pain control is performed, both HRQoL and survival will be improved in cancer affected patients.

The article analyzes the pathophysiology of the CAP and highlights the importance of the multidisciplinary team management.
